Bursa-based Turkish steelmaker Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S (Cemtas) has announced that it has received environmental permission from Turkey’s Ministry of Environment and Urbanization for its investment project for the upgrade of its electric arc furnace with a new jet burner system and for the modernization and expansion of its old substation.

With this project with a value of €1.39 million, Cemtas plans to increase the capacity of the furnace by around 15 percent.

In January this year, the company announced the initiation of the environmental impact assessment process for the project.
