Bursa-based Turkish steelmaker Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S (Cemtas) has announced that it has completed the upgrade of its electric arc furnace (EAF), with the installation of a new jet burner system and the modernization and expansion of its old substation. With the modernization, the company expects to increase the capacity of the furnace by around 15 percent.

In March this year, Cemtas announced that it signed an agreement with UK-based plantmaker Primetals Technologies for the upgrade of its electric arc furnace, with an investment value of €1.39 million.
