Top 10 Chinese steel companies hold 48.9 percent domestic market share

Zhang Ping, head of the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), has stated that in the first 10 months of the current year the top 10 steel companies in China in terms of steel output accounted for a 48.9 percent share of the overall domestic steel market, up 7.3 percentage points as compared to the same period of 2008.
 
Mr. Zhang said that increasing industry concentration is observed in both the coal and steel sectors in China.
