China’s coal output reaches 2.46 billion mt in January-August

According to China's National Energy Administration, in the first eight months of the current year total coal production in China reached 2.46 billion mt. Meanwhile, coal supply and demand in China are expected to balance each other in the coming period.
 
In August alone, China's domestic raw coal production totaled 323 million mt. During the period from June to August inclusive, total coal output in China reached 956 million mt, up 82.2 million mt year on year. As of September 15, the steam coal price at Qinhuangdao port in eastern China stood at RMB 825/mt ($130/mt), down on the levels in previous months
