Swedish crude steel output hits 12-month high in May

According to the latest data released by the Swedish Steel Producers' Association (Jernkontoret), in May this year Swedish crude steel production amounted to 404,500 metric tons, decreasing by just 0.3 percent year on year and up 1.15 percent as compared to April. The country's crude steel output has been declining on year-on-year basis since June 2011, but reached a 12-month high in May.
 
In the first five months of 2013, Swedish crude steel production totaled 1.9 million mt, with a decrease of 9.4 percent compared to the same period of 2012.
