In December 2011, South Korea's total car output surged by seven percent year on year, totaling 424,981 units, according to a report released by the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association (KAMA). The report says that the increase was due to the growth of exports. Meanwhile, in 2011 South Korea's car production rose nine percent compared to 2010 to 4,656,762 units.
