South Korea's auto output down 0.9 percent in 2013

In December last year, South Korea's total automotive (cars and commercial vehicles) output amounted to 419,360 units, up 4.3 percent year on year and down 1.8 percent month on month, according to a report released by the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association (KAMA). On the other hand, South Korea's car and commercial vehicle output in the whole of last year saw a year-on-year decrease of 0.9 percent to 4,521,638 units.

In December last year, the number of vehicles sold in the domestic market totaled 124,386 units, down 8.8 percent year on year and increasing by 3.6 percent year on year. In 2013, domestic vehicle sales in South Korea decreased by 2.1 percent year on year to 1,381,091 units.
South Korean vehicle exports last year fell by 2.7 percent year on year to 3,086,394 units.
