Scrap supplies by rail to Russian steelmakers down 5.6% in Jan

According to Russian Railway statistics, in January this year direct supplies of steel scrap by rail to Russian metallurgical companies and pipe plants totaled 585,100 mt, down 5.6 percent compared to January 2013 and half the volume recorded December 2013.

In particular, in January scrap deliveries by rail to NLMK's long steel division totaled 97,500 mt, up 8.3 percent, scrap supplies to Evraz ZSMK amounted to 65,400 mt, double, while scrap supplies by rail to MMK totaled 58,700 mt, down 16 percent, all year-on-year basis.
