S. Korea’s industrial output drops in August after rising for three straight months

In August, South Korea's industrial production rose by 17.1 percent year on year and was down by one percent month on month after rising for three months in a row on month-on-month basis, according to the statistics released by Statistics Korea. The year-on-year growth recorded in August was the 14th straight year-on-year increase registered.

Meanwhile, in the given month the average capacity utilization rate in South Korean manufacturing stood at 81.2 percent, declining by three percentage points from the previous month.
 
On the other hand, in August, the value of construction completed at constant prices fell 5.5 percent from the previous month and was up three percent year on year and the value of construction orders received at current prices decreased by 13.9 percent from the same month of the previous year.
