Russia’s Ashinskiy sees a 24 percent increase in its H1 steel output

According to its data issued for the first half of 2010, Russian steel producer Ashinskiy Metallurgical Works (Ashinskiy) registered a 24 percent increase year on year in its steel output to 345,900 mt, including 331,700 mt of slabs - up 26.5 percent year on year.
 
In January-June 2010, Ashinskiy produced 298,700 mt of commercial grade rolled steel products - up about 13 percent compared to the same period last year.

In addition, in H1 this year Ashinskiy's sales of steel plates increased by 9.8 percent year on year to 254,000 mt. Of this figure, 205,600 mt of plates were delivered to the Russian domestic market - up 79.3 percent year on year, 41,600 mt were exported to non-CIS countries - down 60.7 percent, and 6,800 mt were delivered to CIS countries - down 36.4 percent, all compared to the same period last year.
