OMK and Nord Stream sign contract for pipe supplies

The Russian pipe producer Vyksa Steel Works (Vyksa), a part of United Metallurgical Company (OMK), has signed a pipe supply agreement with the North-European Gas Pipeline (Nord Stream) for the construction of a pipeline across the Baltic Sea.

According to the agreement, Vyksa will supply 25 percent of pipes for the first section of the 1,200 kilometer-long pipeline which will extend from Vyborg in Russia to Greifswald in Germany.

In total, the order awarded by Nord Stream to OMK consists of 280,000 metric tons of high quality pipes.
