The Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has announced that it has successfully passed the second audit of its quality management system for compliance with the requirements of the international standard ISO/TU 16949:2002 "Quality Management Systems: special requirements for the application of ISO 9001:2002 in the automotive industry and enterprises producing relevant spare parts."
Accordingly, during the audit, the auditors from German TUV Rheinland Cert GmbH assessed the technical and organizational levels of NLMK as positive and confirmed the compliance of NLMK's quality management system with the international requirements for automotive goods production.
In 2004, NLMK obtained the quality management system certificate of compliance with the requirements of International Standard ISO/TU 16949:2002, which proves that the company is an acknowledged potential supplier for the global automotive industry. In 2007 NLMK passed a re-certification audit and was granted a new certificate of compliance, valid until 2010.
