NLMK orders cold rolling reversing mill from SMS Demag

The Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has announced the signing of a contract with German plantmaker SMS Demag for the supply of a new one-stand cold rolling reversing mill.  

The new mill worth over €29 million will have an annual production capacity of 350,000 mt of high-strength carbon steel strips. The new production will be used in appliances in the automotive and construction industries.

The equipment for the mill will be supplied within five months, while the mill is expected to commission production in 2011.
