Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region-based Chinese steelmaker Ningxia Iron and Steel Co. (Ningxia Steel) has announced that it has started construction work on its new special steel project which has a planned annual output capacity of 1.8 million mt.
Last November, Ningxia Steel commissioned a special steel technological innovation project with an annual output capacity of 1.2 million mt. Construction work on the project, which cost an investment of RMB 1.3 billion ($206.11 million), had started in August 2009.
