MMK issues H1 output data

The Russian steelmaker Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has issued its production data for the first half of 2008.

During the period in question, MMK produced 5.06 million mt of pig iron - up 8.8 percent, 7.02 million mt of crude steel - up 8.3 percent, and 6.4 million mt of finished steel products - up 8.1 percent.  

In the first six months of 2008, MMK produced 679,000 mt of billets and slabs, 936,000 mt of long products, 3.25 million mt of HR, 861,000 mt of CR and 213,000 mt of galvanized steel, 86,000 mt of pre-painted galvanized steel and 35,000 mt of pipes.
