Mexico’s economy secretariat, SE, said this week it will extend the list of automatic import notices to include other steel-related products.

The list was extended to 25 products, including H, L and T shape profiles, galvanized steel with a diameter greater than 4mm, silicon-manganese steel, among others.

According to the government, the measure aims to protect the nation’s steel industry, while avoiding the triangulation or entry of other steel products under unfair practices.
