Kazakhstan issues 2008 production data

According to the data released by the Republic of Kazakhstan's Agency of Statistics, in 2008 the country registered a 10.4 percent decrease in its crude steel production, a 17.9 percent decrease in its production of flat rolled (including a 17.5 percent decline in tinplate and a 12.8 percent drop in galvanized steel), and a 6.6 percent decrease in its ferroalloys production, all compared with the data of 2007.

The respective figures in metric tons were 4.286 million, 2.825 million (including 172,998 for tinplate and 526,383 for galvanized steel), and 1.591 million.
