Japan's new ship export orders decline in October from September

According to the data released by the Japan Ship Exporters' Association (JSEA), Japanese new ship export orders in October this year decreased by 33.9 percent on tonnage basis compared to September, falling to three ships, compared to six ships recorded in September, totaling 124,800 gross tons, consisting of two bulk carriers. In October last year, Japan's new ship export orders had totaled 47 ships amounting to 3.49 million gross tons.
                                                                
In the first ten months of this year, Japanese shipbuilders received new export orders for a total of 62 ships with an aggregate of 2.89 million gross tons, up 15.3 percent year on year. 
 
On the other hand, in October this year Japan delivered 15 ships for export, totaling 584,122 gross tons, falling from 23 ships totaling 1.12 million gross tons recorded in September. In October 2015, Japan's new ship deliveries for export had totaled 22 ships with 709,089 gross tons.
 
Meanwhile, in the January-October period of the current year, Japan delivered 252 ships for export, totaling 10.53 million gross tons, rising by 4.3 percent year on year.
