In November last year, Japanese steel exports rose 9.6 percent year on year and 4.8 percent month on month to 3.58 million metric tons, valued at $3.96 billion.
In March 2010, Japan's steel exports had reached all-time record levels, hitting 4.21 million metric tons.
Meanwhile, in November, Japanese steel imports increased by 6.8 percent as compared to November 2009, amounting to 645.440 metric tons - up 0.7 percent month on month, and totaling a value of $922.79 million.
Year-to-date steel exports up to the end of November saw a 29.8 rise year on year to 39.69 million mt, while steel imports in the same period recorded a 60.3 percent increase to 6.63 million mt.
