Japanese auto output falls for tenth month in a row in July

Japanese automobile production in July this year totaled 790,325 units, decreasing by 76,917 units or 8.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year. July was the tenth month in a row that Japan's automobile output decreased in a year-on-year basis, according to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA).

Domestic sales in July this year stood at 373,058 vehicles, down 23.3 percent as compared with the same month of the previous year. In the meantime, the country's automobile exports in July amounted to 410,390 units, falling by 12,760 units or three percent, decreasing by five consecutive months as compared to the same month of the previous year. The revenue generated by these exports amounted to $13.26 billion, including $9.5 billion for vehicles and $3.75 billion for parts.
