On February 19, 2009, the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) determined that a US industry is materially injured by reason of imports of welded stainless steel pressure pipe from China that the US Department of Commerce (DOC) has determined are subsidized and sold in the United States at less than fair value.

All six commissioners of the ITC voted in the affirmative.

As a result of the ITC's affirmative determinations, the DOC will issue a countervailing duty order and an antidumping duty order on imports of this product from China.
