The United States International Trade Commission (ITC) announced on April 18 its preliminary injury determination on steel threaded rods imported from China

The ITC has determined with affirmative vote of all six commissioners that there is a reasonable indication that a US industry is materially injured by reason of imports of certain steel threaded rod from China that is allegedly sold in the United States at less than fair value.

As a result of the ITC's affirmative decision, the US Department of Commerce (US DOC) will keep conducting its antidumping investigations on imports of this product from China, with a preliminary decision to be reached by 12 August 2008.

The US DOC had initiated an antidumping investigation into imports of steel threaded rod imported from China based on the petition filed on March 5 by the US' largest threaded rod producer Vulcan Threaded Products.
