According to the Italian automotive industry association (Anfia), Italy's new car registrations amounted to 129,663 units in April, down 18 percent year on year. In the first four months of the current year, new registrations dipped by 20.2 percent year on year to 537,170 units.

"The Italian auto market has provided negative figures for the seventh month in a row, and in the last five months new registrations dipped by two-digit percentages. Also in April, the figures for new units bring us back to the levels of the early 80s," commented Anfia president Roberto Vavassori.
