Italy’s new passenger vehicle registrations down 17 percent in January

In the first month of 2012, new passenger vehicle registrations in Italy amounted to 137,119 units, decreasing by 16.93 percent year on year, though indicating an increase compared to December last year, according to ANFIA, the Italian automotive industry association.

In December, new registrations had fallen by 15.3 percent year on year to 111,211 units. Meanwhile, in 2011 new passenger vehicle registrations in Italy dropped by 10.84 percent compared to the 2010 figure.
