Italy’s crude steel output up slightly in July over June

According to the figures released by the Italian steel producers' association Federacciai, in July this year Italian crude steel output rose by 37.6 percent year on year and by 0.2 percent month on month, reaching 2.269 million metric tons.

Meanwhile, in the first seven months of 2010 the country's crude steel production stood at 15.69 million metric tons, rising by 36.1 percent compared to the same period of 2009.

Federacciai has also released Italy's long and flat steel output data for June this year.
Accordingly, in June this year Italy's long steel output rose by 7.4 percent year on year and was down 3.7 percent month on month, reaching 1,063 million metric tons.

On the other hand, in June the country's flat steel output amounted to 920,000 metric tons, increasing by 31.6 percent year on year and declining by 26.4 percent month on month.
