Indian motor vehicle output up 11.6 percent in June

In June this year, Indian motor vehicle production increased by 11.56 percent year on year to 1,809,304 units, according to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

In the first three months of the current Indian fiscal year (started April 1, 2014), passenger vehicle sales in India increased by 1.30 percent compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year, while the country's commercial vehicles segment registered a fall of 16.13 percent in sales, both on year-on-year basis.

Meanwhile, in the first three months of the current Indian fiscal year, India's total motor vehicle exports increased by 20.19 percent year on year. Passenger vehicle exports registered a year-on-year increase of 6.9 percent, while commercial vehicle exports increased by 20.88 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
