Chinese steel producer Handan Steel Company, the Hebei Province-based subsidiary of Heibei Steel Group, has announced its success in developing H50W800 non-grain-oriented electrical steel. Handan Steel has thus become the first steelmaker in Hebei Province to produce this material.

Production of H50W800 non-grain-oriented electrical steel requires strict control of carbon, sulfur and oxygen content. Feedstock for production consists of prime quality hot metal and low carbon scrap.

Handan Steel is now planning to develop another high-end steel product, namely, dynamo steel.
