Chinese steelmaker Shagang Group has announced that it has succeeded in producing ultra-low-carbon hot rolled interstitial free (IF) steel, thereby expanding its product range.

IF steel is widely used in the automobile and household appliance industries, and demand for the steel is increasing. The deep-drawing performance, strain-hardening exponent (n) value, and plastic strain ratio (r90) of Shagang Group's ultra-low-carbon hot rolled interstitial free (IF) all met the GB/T5213-2008 standard for extra-deep drawing steel.
