German passenger car output up 27 percent in March

According to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), Germany's passenger car output in March this year increased by 27 percent year on year to 555,300 units, while a month-on-month increase of 25.29 percent was registered.
 
During the month in question, new passenger car registrations in Germany declined by 27 percent year on year to 294,500 units and climbed by 51.18 percent compared to the previous month, while passenger car exports rose by 51 percent year on year and increased by 24.23 percent month on month, reaching 419,400 units.
 
In the first quarter of 2010, Germany's total passenger car output reached 1,382,600 units, up 32 percent, passenger car exports amounted to 1,049,400 units, up 47 percent, while new registrations decreased by 23 percent to 670,500 units, all compared to the corresponding period of 2009.
