German passenger car market expands in June after two-month decline

In June, Germany's passenger car output improved as compared to May, after declining for two straight months.
 
According to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), Germany's passenger car output in June this year rose by 10 percent year on year to 524,700 units, while a month-on-month increase of 11.62 percent was registered.
 
During the month in question, new passenger car registrations in Germany declined by 32 percent year on year to 289,400 units and improved by 14.48 percent compared to the previous month, while passenger car exports rose by 26 percent year on year and were up by 7.43 percent month on month, reaching 395,000 units.
 
In the first half of 2010, Germany's total passenger car output reached 2,846,800 units, up 23 percent, passenger car exports amounted to 2,154,400 units, up 44 percent, while new registrations decreased by 29 percent to 1,468,900 units, all compared to the corresponding period of 2009.
