In February this year, the seasonally and working-day adjusted turnover in the German manufacturing industry rose by 1.4 percent compared to the previous month, following a month-on-month increase of 0.9 percent in January, according to the preliminary data reported by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
In February, the turnover of German metal and metal product manufacturing declined 2.1 percent as compared to January, with domestic sales decreasing by four percent while foreign sales were up by 1.4 percent, month on month. Meanwhile, a 0.8 percent month-on-month decrease was recorded in the turnover in manufacture of fabricated metal products, with domestic sales falling by 0.1 percent and foreign sales down by 2.1 percent, both compared to the previous month.
