According to the statistics released by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, in the January-February period this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy exports amounted to a value of €1.56 billion, decreasing slightly by 0.13 percent year on year.
During the period in question, France exported €273 million of steel pipes and tubes - down 19.4 percent, €80.44 million of cold rolled steel strip - down 2.92 percent, €61.96 million of cold drawn wire - down 8.14 percent, €55.99 million of cold rolled steel bars - down 3.64 percent, and €113.67 million of metal structures and parts - up 20.65 percent, all compared to the first two months of 2014.
Meanwhile, in the January-February period this year France's basic steel product and ferroalloy imports totaled €1.31 billion in value, down 9.72 percent year on year.
During the given period, France imported €240 million of steel pipes and tubes - down 9.2 percent, €89.2 million of cold rolled steel strip - down 10.4 percent, €66.64 million of cold rolled steel bars - up 2.2 percent, €63.3 million of cold drawn wire - down 2.6 percent, and €202.7 million of metal structures and parts - down 11.65 percent, all compared to the same period of the previous year.
