According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), the country's industrial production in May this year increased by 1.7 percent month on month, following a revised month-on-month decline of 0.5 percent recorded in April. The year-on-year increase rate was registered at eight percent.
In May, France's production in manufacture of metals and metal products increased by 2.1 percent, the production of the automotive industry rose by 4.7 percent, while the output of the construction industry dropped 2.1 percent, all compared to the previous month.
