France’s metal industry output up 3.1% in Apr over Mar

According to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE), the country's manufacturing production in April this year increased 2.6 percent compared to March, after a month-on-month decrease of 0.7 percent recorded in March.

In April, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, rose by 3.1 percent, the production of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry increased by 4.6 percent, while the output of the construction industry rose 0.2 percent, all compared to the previous month.

In the February-April 2013 quarter, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, rose by 1.4 percent, while production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry increased by 1.5 percent, both compared to the previous three months. In the February-April quarter, the output of the construction industry in France fell 1.5 percent quarter on quarter.
