EU-27 new industrial orders rise 2.7 percent in May over April

According to a statement released on July 22 by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, the new industrial orders index in the European Union member states (EU-27) increased by 2.7 percent month on month in May, after a revised month-on-month increase of 0.3 percent recorded in April. The year-on-year increase in May was recorded at 20.1 percent in the region.
On the other hand, in May new industrial orders in the EU-27, excluding ships, railway and aerospace equipment for which changes tend to be more volatile, rose by 2.7 percent month on month and was up 22 percent year on year.
