The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers, by its resolution No. 529 dated June 4, has abolished the process of licensing of steel exports which are subject to the European Union's steel quota regulations.

The Cabinet made a relevant amendment to its resolution, which lists products subject to special export and import regulations.

The EU quota for imports of Ukrainian steel products, which was initially set at the level of 1,353,000 mt for 2008, has been abolished by the European Commission at the end of May, in line with Ukraine's accession to the WTO.
