EU initiates expiry review for Chinese steel pipe fittings

The European Commission has announced that it has initiated an expiry review of the antidumping (AD) duty on certain iron ore steel tube and pipe fittings imports from China and consigned from Taiwan, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and the Philippines.

The application for the review was filed by the European Steel Association (EUROFER) in June this year, providing evidence that, should measures be allowed to lapse, the current import level of the product under review from the country concerned to the EU is likely to increase due to the existence of unused capacity in China and due to the measures in force in traditional markets other than the EU on imports of the product under review.

The product under review currently falls within CN codes ex 7307 93 11, ex 7307 93 19 and ex 7307 99 80.
