Consumer confidence index decreases in Turkey
Turkey's consumer confidence index fell 3.01% month on month to 102.1 in March, according to joint data released by the State Institute of Statistics (DIE) and
Turkey's Central Bank.
The decrease in the consumer confidence index stems from the deterioration in consumers' assessments concerning their present and future purchasing power, the general economic situation and job opportunities in the next period.
The current purchasing power index fell from 92.3 to 89.8, while the future purchasing power index dropped from 98.7 to 95.8. The general economic situation index tumbled from 105.5 to 100.5, while the job opportunities index dropped from 96.8 to 90.5.
