In the January-June period this year, Colombia exported 72,438 mt of ferronickel, down 2.6 percent, with a value of $382.89 million, declining by 24.1 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In June, Colombian ferronickel exports amounted to 11,111 mt, dropping by 27.1 percent, and were worth $49.86 million, down by 62.8 percent, both year on year.
In the January-June period, Colombia’s iron and steel export volume totaled 107,642 mt, decreasing by 8.2 percent, with a value of $464.31 million, down by 23.7 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In June, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 17,135 mt, down by 28.0 percent, and were worth $63.92 million, falling by 59.3 percent, both compared to the same month of 2022.
