In the January-April period this year, Colombia exported 44,324 mt of ferronickel, down 9.7 percent, with a value of $252.91 million, declining by 12.9 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In April, Colombian ferronickel exports amounted to 8,205 mt, dropping by 52.9 percent, and were worth $47.71 million, down by 57.3 percent, both year on year.
In the January-April period, Colombia’s iron and steel export volume totaled 67,975 mt, decreasing by 13.1 percent, with a value of $307.92 million, down by 14.1 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In April, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 12,097 mt, down by 52.4 percent, and were worth $59.94 million, falling by 54.6 percent, both compared to the same month of 2022.
