The Credit Suisse bank announced Monday that the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Group cleared the world's first coking coal swap transaction. The transaction was for 60,000 metric tons of coking coal with a six month tenor.

Credit Suisse also said that with addition of the coking coal swaps, steel mills can better hedge against their exposure of input costs.
