According to the data released by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), as of the end of November (November 30) this year the composite steel price index (CSPI) for the Chinese domestic market was at 118.66 points, up 2.7 points or 2.33 percent month on month, while increasing by 28.28 points or 31.29 percent on year-on-year basis.
At the end of November, the CSPI long steel index was at 124.89 points, up 4.79 points or 3.99 percent month on month and increasing by 35.9 points or 40.34 percent year on year, while the CSPI flat steel index stood at 114.54 points, rising by 1.01 points or 0.89 percent month on month and increasing by 20.41 points or 21.68 percent year on year.
As of the end of November this year, among the eight main steel products monitored by the CISA, prices of high-speed wire rod, rebar, angles, hot rolled coil (HRC), cold rolled sheet (CRS), hot dip galvanized (HDG), medium plate and hot rolled seamless pipe increased by RMB 151/mt ($22.8/mt), RMB 209/mt ($31.6/mt), RMB 61/mt ($9.2/mt), RMB 15/mt ($2.3/mt), RMB 31/mt ($4.7/mt), RMB 6/mt ($0.9/mt),RMB 29/mt ($4.4/mt) and RMB 42/mt ($6.4/mt), all compared to price levels at the end of October of the current year.
