According to the data released by the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), as of the end of November (November 30) this year the composite steel price index (CSPI) for the Chinese domestic market was at 90.38 points, up 10.03 points or 12.48 percent month on month, while increasing by 34.19 points or 60.85 percent on year-on-year basis.
At the end of November, the CSPI long steel index was at 88.99 points, up 9.72 points or 12.26 percent month on month and increasing by 31.22 points or 54.04 percent year on year, while the CSPI flat steel index stood at 94.13 points, up 10.74 points or 12.88 percent month on month and increasing by 39.15 points or 71.21 percent year on year.
As of the end of November this year, among the eight main steel products monitored by the CISA, prices of high-speed wire rod, rebar, angles, medium plate, hot rolled coil (HRC), cold rolled sheet (CRS), seamless pipe and hot dip galvanized (HDG) increased by RMB 328/mt ($47.54/mt), RMB 367/mt ($53.19/mt), RMB 213/mt ($30.87/mt), RMB 406/mt ($58.84/mt), RMB 421/mt ($61.01/mt), RMB 553/mt ($80.14/mt), RMB 587/mt ($85.07/mt) and RMB 381/mt ($55.22/mt), all compared to price levels at the end of October of the current year.
