Russia-based steel pipe producer ChTPZ Group has announced that it will supply an additional batch of pipes for the construction of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline in the framework of its existing contract. Accordingly, ChTPZ Group will supply more than 3,200 mt of large diameter (LD) pipes. The deliveries are planned for the third and fourth quarter of the current year.

In March 2016, ChTPZ Group won the tender for the supply of 599,000 mt of large diameter pipes for the construction of the pipeline for the period from September 2016 to June 2018. In 2016, the company delivered more than 82,000 mt of large diameter pipes for the project.

The Nord Stream 2 pipeline through the Baltic Sea will deliver natural gas directly from some of the world’s largest known reserves in Russia to the gas market in the European Union.
