ChTPZ Group delivers first LD pipes to Africa

Russia-based steel pipe producer ChTPZ Group has announced that it has made its first delivery of large diameter (LD) pipes to the African continent. 
 
Accordingly, the company has shipped more than 2,000 meters of large diameter pipes for the Ain Sukhna Product Hub liquefied gas transportation and storage project in Egypt, to transport gas from tankers at the hub. 
 
The large diameter pipes with a diameter of 711.2 mm and a wall thickness of 12.7 mm are produced according to the API 5L standard of the American Petroleum Institute (API). 
 
In 2016, ChTPZ Group’s pipe exports increased by 31 percent year on year to 263,000 mt, and in the current year the company plans to increase its pipe exports, including its exports to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
