Chongqing Steel aims to produce 6.5 million mt of crude steel in 2010

In 2009, Chinese steel producer Chongqing Steel registered sales revenue of RMB 15.6 billion and a net profit of RMB 320 million. Meanwhile, in the year in question the steelmaker produced 3.2888 million mt of crude steel, and it plans to increase the figure to 6.5 million mt in 2010.

With the commissioning of its No. 2 converter, and following the launch of its wharf project, of its No. 1 coke oven, its sintering project, its No. 2 iron-making blast furnace and its 4.1 m-wide heavy plate production line, Chongqing Steel expects to further expand the capacities of its leading products such as sheet for high-pressure boilers and steel for shipbuilding.
