The Chinese ambassador to Mexico, Qui Xiaoqi, said in a recent forum in Mexico that “the political relations between Mexico and China are at their best and opportunity exists to expand the commercial networks between both countries.” Xiaoqi added that China considers Mexico as a strategic partner not only in Latin America, second only to Brazil, but the world. Xiaoqi also assured that Chinese investments in Mexico will continue as “Mexico has the opportunity to attract them.”

The ambassador added that Mexico also can increase its presence in the Chinese market and invited Mexico to participate in China’s first expo slated for November 2018 to promote China’s commercial exchange with other countries. Xiaoqi added that China will be increasing and shifting its imports, thereby presenting Mexican companies with many new opportunities. The Mexican government has confirmed the attendance of a variety of Mexican firms at the event.
