China’s iron ore imports remain stable in January-September

In September this year, China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate amounted to 86.12 million mt, down 16.2 percent month on month and increasing by 1.69 percent year on year, while in the January-September period this year China’s imports of iron ore and iron ore concentrate totaled 699.05 million mt, remaining stable year on year, according to data issued by the Chinese customs authorities on October 13.

In September this year, China imported 1.01 million mt of finished steel, down 0.98 percent month on month and decreasing by 25.74 percent year on year. In the January-September period, China’s imports of finished steel totaled 9.73 million mt, declining by 11.6 percent year on year.
