China Steel orders RH plant from SMS Mevac

Taiwanese steelmaker China Steel Corporation has ordered a sixth RH plant from German plantmaker SMS Siemag's subsidiary SMS Mevac. In the second quarter of 2012 the new 250-mt RH plant will be put into operation at the converter plant No. 2, a SMS release said
 
The order for SMS Mevac comprises engineering, delivery of all plant components, erection and commissioning services as well as training of the customer's personnel. Amongst other grades, the unit will produce ultra-low carbon steel for the automotive industry as well as non-grain oriented silicon steel for electrical sheets.
