Brazil's motor vehicle output in September this year increased by 13.7 percent from the previous month, but fell by 6.7 percent year on year to 300,845 units (excluding agricultural vehicles), according to the Brazilian Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea). Meanwhile, in the first nine months of this year, the country's motor vehicle output (excluding agricultural vehicles) decreased 16.8 percent year on year to 2,384,214 units.
New motor vehicle registrations (excluding agricultural vehicles) in Brazil totaled 296,294 units in September this year, up 8.7 percent compared to August, but decreasing by 4.4 percent year on year. 17.5 percent of this figure consisted of imported new vehicles. In the first nine months of the current year, the country's new motor vehicle registrations (excluding agricultural vehicles) decreased by 9.1 percent year on year to 2,526,474 units.
Meanwhile, Brazil's motor vehicle exports in September this year (excluding agricultural vehicles) totaled 26,724 units, decreasing by 15.6 percent compared to the previous month and down 41.2 percent year on year. In the January-September period this year, Brazil's motor vehicle exports totaled 262,007 units, down 38.5 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in September the revenue generated by Brazilian motor vehicle exports (excluding agricultural vehicles) decreased by 8.9 percent month on month to $723.68 million, declining by 32.2 percent year on year. In the first nine months of the current year, in Brazil the revenue generated by motor vehicle exports (excluding agricultural vehicles) decreased by 30.9 percent year on year to $6.76 billion.
